Amid ongoing internal squabbles in the pan Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere over contradicting choices If oresidential candidates among its leaders, former aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has come out to tackle the southwest organization.
Recall that within the past few days, there have been rancour within the Afenifere over the respective endorsements of Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by two different leadership factions within the group.
Reacting to the issue via a lengthy Facebook post some hour ago, FFK, who is a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, tackled the Pa Ayo Adebanjo faction of the Afenifere over its decision to endorse Obi’s candidacy.
In his post, the former minister urged the Yoruba group to reconsider its choices, insisting that a defeat to the APC flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming polls will be assumed as a defeat to the Yorubas both within and outside the country.
He wrote; “A defeat and disgrace for Tinubu is a defeat and a disgrace for every Yoruba man in the country and in the wider world. Is that what Afenifere wants? To disgrace its own? Does it give them pleasure to remove the trousers of their own child before the world and humiliate him?”
