Kidnappers kidnapped an eight-member family and four others in Kaduna State’s Zaria Local Government Area.

The latest attack comes just 48 hours after bandits kidnapped eight students and two lecturers from Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, also in Zaria, and shot another student to death.

According to eyewitnesses, the bandits invaded the Kofar Gayan area of Zaria city in the early hours of today while residents were still sleeping and attacked some houses, abducting eight family members.

The bandits also attacked other houses in the neighborhood and kidnapped four more residents.

The incident was confirmed to newsmen by the Kaduna State police command’s spokesman, Mohammed Jalige.

He revealed that four more kidnap victims were rescued by police officers who arrived in the area during the raid and engaged the bandits in a gun battle.

According to the police spokesman, security operatives have begun an aggressive patrol in the general area and along the Kaduna-Zaria highway with the goal of apprehending the bandits and rescuing those kidnapped.
