Aisha Yesufu Addresses Speech To Tinubu On State Of The Protest, Blames North

In a ‘State of The Protest’ Address, Aisha Yesufu faults the North for relying on religious sentiments in bringing Asiwaju Bola TInubu to power over her preferred Peter Obi.

Aisha Yesufu, a Nigerian political activist who co-founded the #BringBackOurGirls movement and played a prominent role in the End SARS movement against police brutality, has not only defended Peter Obi but also raised awareness among Northerners about the current dire situation in the country, where protests have become a common response.

Her words: “Peace be unto you people. We have witnessed the current state of our country, Nigeria, where people are suffering from hunger and hardship as the government has turned its back on everyone.

Regarding Tinubu, I have repeatedly stated that he wasn’t legitimately elected. The election was marred by rigging and vote-stealing, which led to his ascent to power. Since assuming office, he has brought nothing but trouble and chaos, showing little concern for the plight of the masses

Aisha Yesufu Says Tinubu Not Totally At Fault, Blames North

In examining the situation, I do not entirely blame Tinubu. It was the Northerners who allowed him to successfully rig the election and seize power.

Frankly, I am accustomed to insults, and they do not affect me. When it comes to speaking the truth, I will do so regardless of the consequences. I was vocal during the #EndSARS protests, highlighting the injustices, yet some accused me of not being a true Muslim because I supported the protests. Ironically, now everyone is protesting. I pray that God helps us, but I must say to the Northerners that you brought this problem upon yourselves. Some may claim this situation is divine, but it was actually a risk you took.

Tinubu boasted openly that he placed the former president Buhari in power, yet due to selfish interests or ignorance, you supported the Muslim-Muslim ticket. This led to a popular cleric proclaiming that Muslims would fall if they did not support the Muslim-Muslim ticket. I addressed this in a video and faced severe insults for it. Now, we face the consequences. If your resources are insufficient, adding the Muslim-Muslim ticket won’t solve the problem. Politics should focus on the nation’s economy, not religious or tribal sentiments. When it comes to leading the country, we need capable, God-fearing leaders who will consider the poor, not merely adhere to religious affiliations.

Tinubu once stated that he would reduce the purchasing power of Nigerians and increase taxes, yet nothing was done about it, and the Muslim-Muslim ticket still prevailed. Despite the vote-stealing, we are now experiencing the troubles he predicted.

I am making this video because of the numerous attempts to tarnish Peter Obi’s name with lies ahead of the 2027 election. Reno Omokri has been instigating Northerners against Obi on social media, falsely claiming that Obi incited violence against Northerners. Obi only spoke about waging war against poverty, hunger, and illiteracy, but his words were twisted to discredit him.

I don’t know who the candidates for 2027 will be, or if I will even be around then, but you must choose wisely. Any mistake will lead to dire consequences. Be cautious of religious leaders who give delusional advice and those who mislead people for their own gain. Some have even been beaten for their misleading sermons, such as one who advised against protesting.

Religious leaders should speak the truth, but some are paid to deliver favorable sermons. Be wary of these ‘clerics of alert’ who receive monthly payments from the government, a scheme that started during COVID-19. These clerics direct your votes based on their payments.
