An angry crowd set fire to a Dangote cement truck shortly after it crushed a commercial motorcycle and his passenger to death on the Ilaro-Ibese Road in Ogun State.
According to our source, the mob stopped the road and set fire to the vehicle, forcing the driver to flee for his life.
The event, which occurred on Friday evening, left several motorists trapped for several hours.
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi, verified the incident on Saturday.
Akinbiyi, speaking on the incident, claimed the police and the civil defense corps had been called in to help calm things down.

“The Dangote truck reckless driver left his lane to face the motorbike and his pillion passenger in the other lane and smashed them to death,” Akinbiyi claimed.
“The Dangote Plant Police are in charge of the investigation.”
He went on to say that one of the victims’ bodies had been sent to the Ilaro General Hospital mortuary, while the other had been buried by the family.
He expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and asked truck drivers to avoid reckless driving.
