Ataga Killing: Chidimma reveals why she didn’t show remorse

Journalists were called to the police command headquarters in Ikeja just 72 hours ago, where Chidinma was paraded and asked various questions about the killing of Michael Usifo Ataga. The video of Chidinma confessing to Ataga’s murder went viral on social media, prompting several Nigerians to claim that the suspect displayed no remorse while confessing to murdering the victim.

After watching the video, various Nigerians made these accusations on social media. Chidinma explained to PUNCH in an exclusive interview that she didn’t exhibit remorse since she was attempting to maintain her composure while fielding questions from media.

She also begged Mr Ataga’s family for forgiveness, adding that she regrets everything she did and doesn’t want to die.

Chidinma said, “It’s not that I’m not showing remorse, I was just trying to comport myself to answer questions during the parade. I totally regret everything I did and I hope Mr Ataga’s family forgive me. Please, I don’t want to die because of this case.”

Chidinma maintained that she was attempting to maintain her composure in order to face inquiries from journalists, not because she was lacking in remorse as other Nigerians claimed. She stated in the interview that she does not wish to die as a result of this case, and that she has never killed anyone prior to meeting Mr. Ataga.
