Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has welcomed reports that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and the G-5 group are showing signs of being favourably disposed to the resolution of the their angst with the former Vice President of Nigeria.
A statement issued in Abuja, Thursday, by Atiku’s media adviser, Mr. Paul Ibe, said the PDP candidate also expressed his commitment to a negotiation that will resolve the roiling crisis within the party, and pave the way for a much stronger and united PDP.
According to the statement, Atiku noted that “never at any time of the difference that has ensued has the doors been shut to Governor Wike and his group.”
“He enjoins every leader of the party and their supporters irrespective of their leanings to be open-minded and support the process of resolution of the extant issues.”
