The Sultan of Sokoto said this when welcoming the NYSC Batch B stream 2 to his Palace on Monday.
“I urge you to be security conscious while staying in Sokoto. You know there are security challenges now all over the world. We have our own share also.
”You should not keep late nights, and if you have any challenges contact your district head because they are like your father and guardian.
The religious leader also condemned the recent talk of scrapping the NYSC program.
The Sultan of Sokoto called people soliciting for the scrapping of National Youth service scheme ‘enemies of the nation.’
According to correct.ng, Abubakar Sa’ad suggested that the scrapping of the NYSC program would be bad for nation’s unity.
“I heard there are efforts for the scrapping of the NYSC scheme. I assure you that those behind that struggle do not mean well for this country,” he said.
The Sultan of Sokoto also urged the NYSC members to adhere to the cultures and traditions of the people in the state.
