The FRSC commander in Edo state Henry Benamaisia has urged the people to consider the use of Bicycle for Transportation. This was said during the 2021 World Bicycle day event in Edo state. The program was themed ‘save the cyclist’. The FRSC command in Edo state suggested that the use of bicycle would reduce Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs). The World bicycle day is recognised on the 3rd of June every year. The United Nations set this day aside to encourage healthy living.

The FRSC command also stressed that the use of bicycle would help it’s goal of reducing RTC’s by 15%. Benamaisia also stated that fatalities could also be reduced by 20% through the use of bicycles.

Henry Benamaisia also said that the use of bicycle was simple, cheap and environmentally friendly. As a point of reference, the FRSC commander stated that other developing countries are providing road facilities for the use of bicycles. The FRSC commander finally said that the commission is partnering with the cycling Federation of Nigeria. A healthy life can be achieved by the program, according to the FRSC commander.
