Borno killings: Sack overstayed security chiefs, Senate urges Buhari.

The Senate has made a request to president Buhari to relive the “overstayed” security chiefs of their duties.

This request is coming six months after the upper house asked the service chiefs to resign.

Their resolution of the house remains that, the chief of defence staff; Gabriel Olonisakin, chief of army staff; Tukur Brutai, chief of air staff; Sadique Abubakar and chief of naval staff; Ibok- Ette Ekwe Ibas, are all long overdue for retirement.

This decision was further supported by a motion from Kashim Shettima, a senator representing Borno central.

The lawmaker claimed that 67 farmers were killed in the attack.

He warned that any government that is incapable of protecting the lives of its citizens losses any iota of legitimacy.
