A long time broadcaster, Balarabe Shehu Ilelha, has been chosen by President Muhammadu Buhari, as the acting director of Nigeria National Broadcasting Commission .

The appointment was made by Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, by a released statement earlier today, and the DG has a tenure of five years.
Recall that the Former Director – General Modibbo Kawu was suspended as the Director Fifteen Months ago, and Armstrong Idachaba succeeded as the acting Director – General of the commission.

Controversies have started coming up towards the appointment of the NBC DG.

The commission has commanded all Nigerian broadcast stations to delete their Twitter accounts with immediate effect following the ban placed on the app by the federal government.
