President Muhammadu Buhari has told Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, that he will put an end to insecurity in the north and restore the region’s lost grandeur.
President Buhari, according to Matawalle, provided this promise at a discussion with governors from northern states about their experiences, expectations from the government, and efforts to find long-term solutions to insecurity.
“The president guaranteed that he will put an end to the threat and restore the area and the country as a whole to its former glory,” he added.
“It is time for us to put a stop to the devastation and slaughter; let us cultivate the practice of forgiving our wrongs, desist from dividing inclinations, and become unified.
We will remain focused on the growth of the nation and avoid political disagreements, regardless of whatever party we belong to.”
Matawalle went on to say that northern governors are dedicated to helping the president’s efforts to resolve the country’s security issues.
Matawalle urged elites and other leaders, particularly in northern Nigeria, to unify in the face of the difficulties threatening the region’s growth and prosperity.
He asked northerners to join the government in its efforts to find long-term solutions to poverty, banditry, and abduction.
