Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, has expressed his strong stance on the prolonged detention of Nnamdi Kanu, asserting that there is no valid reason for him to still be in custody.
He emphasized that while he has repeatedly made his position clear, the issue remains unresolved. In his provocative statement, Nwanyanwu suggested that if the government finds it difficult to release Kanu, they could publicly execute him in a dramatic fashion, symbolically “closing the matter permanently.”
He said in an interview with Symfoni, “There was no reason for Nnamdi Kanu to still be in detention till now. I’ve said it severally, and I don’t want to be commenting on it regularly. If it is getting difficult to release Kanu, bring him to Eagle Square, use him for barbecue. Let the haters of the Igbos and those who hated Kanu come and take a pinch of his flesh, eat it so that that matter will be closed permanently.”
