Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden on Sunday, claiming Biden is “not fit to run” and “certainly not fit to serve” as president.
According to the BBC, this statement followed Biden’s announcement that he would withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
Trump, the Republican frontrunner and Biden’s main rival in the election, took to his Truth Social network to express his views. “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President and is certainly not fit to serve—and never was!” Trump wrote.
He further stated, “We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The criticism comes after Biden, facing mounting pressure from Democrats and a challenging debate performance against Trump in June, decided to step aside.
Biden, who announced his withdrawal four months before the November 5 election, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.
