Euro 2024: Spain's Rodri Named Player Of The Tournament

Rodrigo Hernandez Cascante, better known as Rodri, has been named player of the tournament as the 2024 Euro competition ended on Sunday night with a victory for Spain.

NATURENEX reports that Rodri, who plays as a defensive midfielder for Spain and the English Premier League club – Manchester City, is now a ‘proud’ footballer with more silverware.

Rodri contributed immensely to Spain’s victory through the tournament in Germany, including the final against England on Sunday night.

At 28, the star of Manchester City was the key player in La Roja’s midfield as they secured another European championship.

However, Rodri did not play the entire 90 minutes in the final, stepping off at halftime in the 2-1 win over England.

Born in Madrid, Rodri has been with Pep Guardiola’s side for the last five seasons.

The player has won four Premier League titles, two League Cups, an FA Cup, and the 2023 Champions League with Manchester City.

On the other hand, Rodri’s teammate, Lamine Yamal, was recognized as the Young Player of the Euro 2024 tournament on Sunday night.

At just 17, the Barcelona winger became the youngest player to ever win a major award, scoring four goals and providing four assists, including one that led to Nico Williams Jr.’s goal in the final.
