Mouthwatering prizes have been earmarked for all teams that participated in the 2024 Euro tournament in Germany.
NATURENEX reports that England is set for a tough face-off against Spain in the 2024 European Championship final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday, July 14.
The competition, which kicked off on June 14, has seen 51 matches, with 36 in the group stage and 15 in the knockout stages.
Having defeated Netherlands yesterday with a 2-1 score to enter into the final, England aims to break their 58-year streak without a European Championship title, while Spain is hoping to secure their fourth Euro Championship victory.
In December 2023, the UEFA Executive Committee authorized the distribution of prize money for the teams taking part in the tournament.
The total prize money for the teams is equivalent to that of UEFA Euro 2020, amounting to €331 million, Naturenex understands.
Below is how the prize will be distributed to participating teams as contained on UEFA’s official website:
- Participating fee: €9.25m
- Match bonus: €1.0m for a win and €500,000 for a draw
- Qualification to the round of 16: €1.5m
- Qualification to the quarter-finals: €2.5m
- Qualification to the semi-finals: €4m
- The runners-up will receive an additional payment of €5m
- The 2024 European champions will receive an extra payment of €8m
- The champion team could earn a maximum of €28.25 million if they won all three of their group matches.
UEFA disclosed in the publication on Monday that the event’s income is generated through media deals, worldwide sponsorships, ticket sales, catering, and licensing agreements.
