Governor of Zamfara Suspends Emir For Sponsoring Bandits

Bello Matawalle, the Governor of Zamfara state, has just suspended one Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said to be the Emir of Zurmi,after he was alleged to have been sponsoring bandit’s.

The emir suspended by the Governor of Zamfara, is coming after over 90 people were killed by bandit on Thursday during an attack on a village called Kadawa.

The suspension was made known by Kabiru Balarabe, the Acting Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, earlier tiday, and also added that a committe will be set up look into the incident and submit its report in three weeks.

The members of the committee are; former deputy governors of the state Malam Ibrahim and Mukhtar Anka, Faruku Dosara, Yusuf Zugu, Alhaji Musa Shinkafi, the Permanent Secretary to the state, Mamman Tsafe, Ex DIG, NSCDC and officers from the Ministry of Security Affairs.

After Emir of Zurmi suspension, the total number of suspended traditional rulers for involvement in banditry is now at three.

Matawalle also appealed to communities and society to rise and defend thier lives and properties from all forms of attacks.
