Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has shared an update on her health and healing journey.
Taking to her Instagram story, Abubakar expressed frustration, saying that simply healing is no longer enough for her—she wishes her memory could be erased.
“Healing isn’t enough; I need my memory to be erased,” she wrote.
It’s worth noting that Abubakar was previously suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) over accusations of defaming colleagues and prominent Nigerians.
The AGN announced her indefinite suspension in a statement on Instagram, saying a thorough investigation found her guilty of these allegations. She was accused of slandering fellow actors, patrons, and being involved in an extramarital affair with a high-profile figure.
Following her suspension, Abubakar issued a public apology to Nigerian cleric Apostle Johnson Suleman, acknowledging their longstanding public dispute.
Halima Abubakar took to her Instagram page to apologize to Apostle Suleman for defaming him and causing various harm towards his ministry and family.
In the message titled a letter to Apostle Johnson Suleman, the actress acknowledged every falsehood she made against the cleric, admitted false allegations and sought his forgiveness.
She also expressed deep regrets for tarnishing his image hoping her letter could repair the damage to an extent.
The drama between Halima Abubakar and Apostle Johnson Suleman started in 2022.
Halima became bedridden following her altercation with Apostle Suleman. Her family also took to social media to call out the clergyman to stay away from her.
However, many alleged that the actress was battling an autoimmune disease. Debunking the claims, Halima shared her medical report which was shoved aside as many claimed that the report doesn’t prove anything.
