Heavy Rain Destroys Section of NASS Roof, dirupts senate plenary session

On Tuesday, June 22, part of the roof of the National Assembly building was damaged by heavy rain. The Punch News reported that the damage caused the roof of the National Assembly to leak and water splashed into the Federal Assembly Hall.

The development reportedly delayed the sitting of the senators who resumed on Tuesday after a one-week break to mark the end of their second legislative year.

Video of the incident was posted by vanguard news showing workers using containers to scoop the water into buckets while others were mopping the floor.
