Detectives of the Ondo State Police Command have identified two persons involved in the gruesome murder of a popular caterer in Akure, the Ondo state capital, Olakunbi Adene.
Naturenex reported that Olakunbi was killed at her residence, Oda Road, in Akure metropolis, five days after celebrating her 54th birthday.
A family source said the victim’s lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood on her bed by her neighbours, who later informed the caretaker of the house.
The source said, “The mother of two was hale and hearty with no sign of illness few days before she was sent to her early grave by her killers. Her lifeless body was found in a pool of blood on her bed with no trace of her killers.
“It was just five days ago that she marked her 54th birthday, she entertained many visitors in her residence and served assorted wine and drinks to her guests.”
According to Daily Post, the homicide detectives disclosed that the suspects were identified as the personal assistant and the driver of the deceased.
The personal assistant who had been arrested confessed to the crime and had started assisting the police with useful information about the circumstances surrounding the killing.
An investigation was said to have revealed that the personal assistant and driver allegedly conspired to kill her with the motive of obtaining the money she received during her birthday celebration.
The late caterer’s driver, who is currently on the run, provided the weapon used to hack her to death.
