“I May Not See 2027, But I Hope for a Long and Fulfilled Life” – Senator Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has acknowledged the unpredictability of life, stating that while she has aspirations for the future, she remains focused on the present.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, the senator representing Kogi Central addressed speculation about her political ambitions for 2027. She emphasized that any decision regarding her future in politics would be made after extensive consultations with her family, close associates, and the people she represents.

“I believe in embracing the present. I celebrate each moment and trust in the journey ahead. While I pray for a long and fulfilling life, the reality is that I may not be here by 2027,” she said.

The discussion was sparked by a political poster released by her media team, hinting at aspirations beyond her current term. Responding to the speculation, she described the poster as “bold, ambitious, and forward-thinking.”

When questioned about her potential return to the Senate or a bid for a higher office, she remained noncommittal, reaffirming that her decisions would be guided by the collective voice of those around her.

“Whatever 2027 holds will be determined after discussions with my husband, children, family, associates and my community. If they encourage me to continue, I will. If they believe I should take on a larger role, I will consider that as well,” she stated.

Senator Natasha also acknowledged the growing support she has received with many believing she could challenge formidable opponents in future elections. She attributed her rising influence to her commitment to educating and engaging with her constituents.

“I see a new wave of followership—people who believe leadership can improve and who understand that their participation can reshape Nigeria’s political landscape,” she noted.
