The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has disclosed that there’s something wrong as former President, Olusegun Obasanjo publicly endorsed Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, rather than supporting Atiku Abubakar who worked as his vice during his administration for eight years.
The governor who made this known during the flagging off of a road project in Emohua Local Government Area of the state noted that there was something fundamentally wrong with the Atiku Abubakar and that was why the ex-president refused to endorse him.
The governor while also mocking the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar described him as a bad product and described Peter Obi as a good product and for Obasanjo to have recommended Peter Obi, that means the chances of Atiku Abubakar winning the general elections in 2023 is slim.
The governor said it was funny that the engineer of the same legacies upon which Atiku was campaigning failed to recommend him but instead endorsed Obi.
Wike said: “If you are bad product, you are a bad product, if you are a good product, you are a good product. If you (Atiku) are a good product, Obasanjo would have chosen you, but he choose Peter Obi, which is fundamentally wrong. You worked under somebody, the person has recommended to Nigerians another person, is it me? I was praying that Obasanjo would not endorse Peter Obi, but when I saw the letter last night, I was touched.”
