The bolt driver identified as Stephen Abuwatseye who was assaulted by a federal lawmaker, Hon Alex Ikwechegh has revealed what was done to him at the point of assault. In his statements which drew widespread attention from the general public, he pointed out that he wanted to drive his own car to the police station, but was rebuffed and instead, bundled into their vehicle.

In a recent development, the bolt driver in a statement made available to the general public by leading news outlet, VANGUARD today being Monday the 28th day of October 2024, has come out to reveal what was done to him by the lawmaker and some police officers. In his statements, he made it known that he wanted to drive his own car to the police station but the officers said no and instead, bundled him into their own vehicle. He further pointed out that on arrival at the station, he was accused of fighting the lawmaker in his house.

“After the video, he called some police officers. I don’t know which division they were from, but they bundled me into their vehicle. I wanted to drive my own car, but they said no. Two officers sat beside me while I was in the middle as they drove me to the station.
“When we arrived, they instructed me to go inside. I had calls coming in, but they wouldn’t let me answer them. They asked what happened but didn’t question me directly; instead, they spoke to people who weren’t present. The police quickly claimed that I had gone to the honorable house and fought with him.” He said
The statements from the bolt driver however stirred mixed reactions from the general public as many condemned the actions of the said lawmaker and the police officers.
