Naturenex has confirmed that 2027 presidential hopeful Obi visited Zaura in Abuja, the Nigerian capital city.

Moses Paul, convener of the Free Nigeria Movement (FNM) and an ally of Obi, was also among the visitors.

Zaura gave insight into the visit on his verified Facebook page recently with accompanying pictures.

“In my ongoing efforts to drive development in Kano State, I had the honour of hosting His Excellency, Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

“Beyond political divides, the AA Zaura Foundation and I look forward to collaborating with him on initiatives that promote growth and progress in Kano and Nigeria as a whole,” he stated.

Peter Obi’s visit to Zaura’s residence reflected a developing connection between the two political figures.

Observers viewed this as part of his strategy to engage key stakeholders nationwide ahead of the 2027 polls.

Peter Obi’s ‘new’ romance with north

With his recent visits to northern communities, it appears that Obi has begun laying the groundwork for a potential run in the 2027 presidential race even before the starting signal is sounded.

In 2024, during Ramadan, Obi visited numerous mosques in northern Muslim communities in Nasarawa, Niger, Kebbi, Bauchi, Gombe, Sokoto and Kaduna states before the fasting period concluded.

In the course of the tour, the former Anambra state governor commissioned multi-million naira boreholes in some of these states, making political observers posit that the LP chieftain has started a mission to boost his popularity among Muslim voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
