“I’ve No Problem Deputizing Peter Obi” Kwankwaso

According to recent reports from Daily Post Nigeria, Rabiu Kwankwaso, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, has expressed willingness to deputize Peter Obi, Labour Party candidate, in the 2027 elections.

In a video clip, Kwankwaso stated he’s “politically bigger” than Obi, citing his PhD and governance experience. He claimed he performed better as Kano State governor.

Kwankwaso said, “I’ve no problem deputizing Peter Obi, but only if certain conditions are met. We are willing to engage in discussions, provided that trust is established.”

In the 2023 elections, Obi won 11 states and the FCT with 6,101,533 votes, while Kwankwaso won 38 of 44 local government areas in Kano State with 1,496,687 votes.

Kwankwaso’s statement sparks potential alliance discussions between NNPP and Labour Party ahead of 2027. Obi’s camp has not responded.

This development follows Kwankwaso’s declaration of NNPP as Nigeria’s fastest-growing party.

The 2027 elections are shaping up to be highly contested, with various parties exploring alliances and strategies to gain advantage.
