JUST IN: Anambra Market On Fire
A fire outbreak occurred at Afor Market, Nnobi, in the Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The market is the major market in the area, selling foodstuffs, articles, electronics, aluminium works, and other commodities.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but it continues to rage, leaving shop owners helpless.
A source stated that, at the time of filing this report, neither security agents nor fire service officials were present to contain the fire.
Shop owners were seen attempting to salvage their goods from shops not yet engulfed in flames.
“As I’m talking with you, no fire fighting truck has arrived here for the past 30 minutes this fire has been raging. We are helpless; we are watching our goods and shops being destroyed by fire. We want the government to send fire fighting officials here now before the fire destroys the entire market,” a victim said.
