Gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, have launched an attack on the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku Ozalla, in Enugu State.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants abducted a female deputy director of nursing services and a security guard.
A distressed staff member lamented, “This is so sad; we are not safe at all in this hospital; everywhere is porous.”
An SUV allegedly belonging to the abducted nurse was discovered abandoned, with bullet-perforated glass on the front passenger side.
The Enugu State Police Command and the Hospital management are yet to confirm the attack. However, a competent source disclosed that the incident occurred at the same location where a medical doctor was abducted a few weeks ago.
