JUST IN: Yobe, Kano State Governments Relax Curfews

The governments of Yobe and Kano states have relaxed the curfew imposed on several towns due to violence which accompanied the protests against bad governance in the country.

In Yobe, Governor Mala Buni has approved a five-hour review of the curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru, allowing residents to undertake lawful activities from noon to 5 p.m. starting Sunday.

The governor commended security agencies for their efforts and urged them to remain vigilant during the relaxed curfew hours.

Similarly, the Kano State Government has relaxed the curfew, now in effect from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy Baba Dantiye announced the adjustment, citing the need to restore normalcy in the state.
