The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pronounced Usman Baba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the by-election for Sabon Gari Constituency within the Kaduna State House of Assembly. The Returning Officer, Dr Mohammed-Nuruddin Musa, who pronounced the result on Saturday in Zaria, said Mr Baba won the election with 9,113 votes. He crushed his closest contender, Musa Musa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 7, 404 votes. The returning officer too said that Anas Abdullahi of the ADC had 62 votes; Chindo Ibrahim of ADP, 61 votes whereas Musa Halilu of PRP secured 305 votes.

The by-election taken after the statement of the situate as empty by the state House Get together in April. This was due to the disappointment of the official speaking to the voting public, Aminu Shagali, to take an interest in authoritative exercises for more than 360 days.
