The PUNCH: No fewer than 17 persons were feared killed in Abuja, Kano, Niger, Borno, Kaduna and Jigawa during the #Endbadgovernance protest which was held across the country on Thursday. One person was shot dead in Abuja and Kano, two killed in Jigawa, six others were reportedly gunned down by security forces in Niger, while four died in Borno and three in Kaduna.
Vanguard: No fewer than 14 protesters, including a policeman, yesterday lost their lives on the first day of the protest against hardship in the country. Those killed included six at Suleja in Niger State; four in Maiduguri, Borno State; three in Kaduna State; and one in Kebbi State.
The Nation: The protest was peaceful in Lagos, the nation’s commercial capital, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Rivers, Plateau and Cross River. But it turned violent in parts of the North such as Kano, Kaduna, Borno, Gombe, Niger, Jigawa and partly in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Daily Trust: The #EndBadGovernance protest, which commenced early Thursday as planned has resulted in deaths and destruction of properties that could be valued at hundreds of millions of naira. At least,14 people were killed in major cities of some states while the demonstrations were being held.
