The PUNCH: The Court of Appeal, Abuja division, on Thursday, dismissed the ex parte order issued on May 10, 2024, by the Rivers State High Court, Port Harcourt, which barred Martin Amaewhule from parading himself as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. The court also dismissed the decision of the state high court stopping the 24 members of the Assembly loyal to ex-Rivers governor, Nyesom Wike, from accessing the complex or carrying out any legislative assignment in the name of the Rivers State House of Assembly.


Vanguard: THE Federal Government said yesterday no fewer than 21 local government areas in 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have been submerged by flood as a result of torrential rainfall in the past few days.


The Nation: The Federal Government has injected N2 trillion into the economy to stimulate it. It was unveiled by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday as part of an accelerated stabilisation and advancement plan. Its target is economic revival in the short term.


Daily Trust: The federal government yesterday raised the alarm over possible severe flooding beginning from the end of this month, saying 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are likely to be adversely affected. The government also warned that prolonged flooding incidents might escalate the cholera incidents currently ravaging some states.
