Nigerian Newspapers Daily Front Pages Review | Saturday 9th November, 2024

Naturenex looks at the top happenings making headlines on the front pages of Nigeria’s national newspapers today Saturday, 9th November 2024.

The PUNCH: The Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical is set to begin fuel exports to South Africa, Angola, and Namibia, Saturday PUNCH can confirm. A highly credible source, who confirmed this exclusively to one of our correspondents on Friday, said the management of the 650,000-barrel per-day capacity refinery was at advanced stages of talks with the countries to start lifting fuel.

The Nation: On-going efforts to end the incessant collapse of the national grid and stabilise electricity supply will take a minimum of three weeks, The Nation gathered last night. The grid collapsed twice this week alone –first on Tuesday and second on Thursday- making a total of 11 this year. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN),which has responsibility for evacuating electric power generated by the electricity generating companies (GenCos) and wheeling it to distribution companies (DisCos),has already identified three hubs said to be the main sources of the grid collapse.

Daily Trust: The recent release of protesters detained in connection with the August 1 to 10 #EndBadGovernance protests in some parts of the country has raised fresh issues concerning the propriety of the arrests, detention, trial and treatment of suspects while in custody as well as the sudden interests shown by state governments in the case.

Thank you for reading, that is all for today, see you again tomorrow for a review of Nigerian newspapers.
