North again punishes Easterner, stop supplying onions to the region

From the new information obtained by Naturenex, the Onion Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, OMPAN, has halted the delivery of onions to Nigeria’s south-eastern region.

Isah Aliyu, the group’s national president, announced the decision on Wednesday, saying it was necessary owing to increased instability in the South-East.

Aliyu added that the decision was made in response to the recent hijack of two of their members’ trucks filled with onions by armed individuals suspected of being members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
