Northern Forum urges FG on IPOB in the southeast


The Concerned Northern Forum, have spoken about the killing of Ahmad Ali Gulak in the southeastern state of Imo. The Northern group urged the Federal Government to take actions and not let the IPOB turn the southeast into a jungle.

The Northern Forum also called on Nigerians to avoid taking advantage of the current situation to commit crimes.

They Cited the killings and violent display as a threat to the Nation’s Unity. The Northern group condemned the killing of Ahmad Ali Gulak and described it as barbaric.

The Northern Forum released a statement through its Chairman Ibrahim Bature, condemning the act. The group however, praised the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, who arrested the offenders.

“lt thus gives us a sense of security and puts our hearts at rest. We urge them to redouble their efforts in saving the lives of Nigerians and securing their properties.”

They also called on the FG to take actions in stopping the IPOB from threatening the peace of the nation.

“These actions are not to be neglected but severely dealt with according to the provisions of the law,” the group said.

This could lead to more security concerns. The Northern group said Northerners in the South could be forced to defend themselves.

“We will also rise up and defend ourselves. we urge our people in the southeastern part of the country to protect themselves should the government fail to do so,” the group said.

Through its statement, the group said it would be forced to seize the peace of the southerners living up North.

In reaction to rumours linking Imo state Governor to the death of Ahmad, the northern forum debunked the news, describing it as false.
