Mr, Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue state has just disclosed that nothing will make them reverse the anti-grazing law in Benue state.
Recall that the anti-grazing law was signed weeks ago by Samuel Ortom, following a clash between cattle herders and farmers, to abhor the movement of livestock most especially cattle on foot in Benue state.

Report has it that over twenty people got killed recently during an attack on Odugbeho community by unknown Gunmen on June, 6 in the state. Recall that over 30 people were also abducted killed among which are students of a College of Education.

Speaking, during his second year in office celebration said, he would start recruiting personnel (Vigilante), consisting of responsible people of 50 years and below into the Volunteer Guards. And we also clamour that the group be licensed to carry arms.

He was quoted thus “Few weeks ago, I and other Benue stakeholders met and ordered that the law to activate and implement the Vigilante or the Community Volunteer Guards Law enacted in 2000”. And those attacking Benue people to force us to reverse the Anti Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment are joking. The law will be implemnted and no force, power or intimidation can make us reverse the law. We will make a law to increase the penalty for offenders.”
This is the time for us to take action and stop our crying.
