NYSC Makes Important Notice For Married Female Corps Members

Don't Report to Camp Without Reading This! NYSC's Important Notice

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised married female candidates assigned to states where their spouses do not live to seek redeployment.

Naturenex reports that the service communicated this via its official X handle on Monday.

The scheme said, “ATTENTION ALL 2024 BATCH ”B” STREAM II MARRIED FEMALE PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS.

“All married female Prospective Corps members (PCM’s) who are deployed to States where their husbands are not domiciled should report to the nearest NYSC Orientation Camp for their State of Deployment to be changed.

“They are to report during the period of registration at the Orientation Camps with copies of their marital and other relevant documents as evidence. Once the change is made, it will be reflected on their dashboard for reprinting.”

The service also issued the following tips to guide deployed prospective corps members:

1. Do not travel to the Orientation Camps at night. Break your journey when necessary.
2. Report on your scheduled reporting date.
3. Apply for spelling errors and name rearrangements on your dashboard.

4. After documentation in the Camp, you cannot change your Date of Birth, Date of Graduation, Course of Study and Passport Photograph.

5. Do not report to the Camp if there is any discrepancies in your course of study or with the Date of Graduation on your Statement of Result and your Call-up Letter. Contact your Institution to sort it out.

Naturenex reports that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program initiated by the Nigerian government to engage graduates in nation-building and development.

Established on May 22, 1973, under decree No. 24, the program was designed to foster the development of shared connections among Nigeria’s youth and to enhance national unity.

To qualify for participation, graduates must be under 30 at the time of their graduation.

Individuals exceeding this age limit are issued a Certificate of Exemption, which holds the same value as the NYSC Discharge Certificate.

Upon completing the service year, corps members are awarded a certificate confirming their satisfactory participation.
