As residents of Ota in Ado-Odo / Ota Local Government Area have called on Governor Dapo Abiodun, Senators, and the Federal Government to repair their highways, the End SARS campaign appears to have taken a new form in Ogun State.
Ota is Ogun State’s industrial capital, housing many factories and companies.
But, for years, the people of the region have denounced the deplorable state of the roads in the entire local government of Ado-Odo / Ota, particularly the road leading from Ota to the borders of Agbara, Lagos, Abeokuta and Idiroko.
The End SARS protest was used by residents of the region to call on the government to rehabilitate their highways.
They took to the street on Friday with placards containing different inscriptions such as: “# FixOtaroads;” Ota Feeds Nigeria, “Who is our Senator,” Dapo do something “and others.”
As they made their demands known, the protesters blocked the roads linking Lagos to Abeokuta and other parts of the state.
Policemen and other security officials were seen in their midst as they marched across the city in a peaceful way to ensure that the rally was not hijacked by miscreants.
