The director general of the Voice of Nigeria, VON, Osita Okechukwu has reacted to the various notions about the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku being their major opposition, especially in the south west region of the country.
Osita Okechukwu, a Tinubu supporter who gave his response noted that it isn’t all about money as some may speculate, and that Nigerians, especially in the south west region, apart from what they believe in Peter Obi, may not want to see a northerner lead the nation after Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure is over.
He noted that the south west which is typically like a strong zone for the former governor of Lagos state, Bola Tinubu in the presidential election does not have to worry about the PDP flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar being in control there.
He pointed out that if there was to be any opposition in the south west for Tinubu, it will be the former governor of Anambra, Peter Obi who is running for the presidency under the labour party.
Speaking further, he said such decision from the masses will be for the sake of ensuring harmony and corporate existence together.
One may not be wrong to say that Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, being the main opposition in the party, having ruled for 16 years may be the main opposition and threat to the Tinubu’s APC, even in the south west region.
