Reactions have begun trailing a recent social media post made by the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad replying to a comment made by the world’s richest man, Elon Musk.
A few hours ago, Musk, who recently took ownership of the microblogging platform, Twitter, made a tweet in which he advocated for freedom of speech by stating that power belonged to the people.
However, in his response to the now-viral tweet from the billionaire, Bashir, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), seized the opportunity to take a jab at Nigeria’s former ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whose slogan is “Power to the People”.

Quite interestingly, the reply from the presidential aide has sparked reactions from many Nigerians who troopers to the comments section to share their thoughts.
While some persons reminded Bashir that the statement defines the true meaning of democracy, others, however, pointed out that Musk’s tweet had nothing to do with politics in Nigeria.
