President Bola Tinubu has described the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as a sad loss for Nigeria and the Senate.
President Tinubu said the Anambra South Senator, Ifeanyi Ubah, was an accomplished politician and entrepreneur who has contributed so much to the development of the country.
A statement from Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, on Saturday, read: “President Bola Tinubu extends his condolences to the family of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
“The deceased was a renowned businessman and politician. He was the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
“President Tinubu commiserates with the friends and colleagues of the late Senator, the National Assembly, and the government and people of Anambra State over this sad loss.
“The President prays for the repose of the soul of the departed lawmaker, as well as for strength and comfort to his family.”
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has described the death of Ifeanyi Ubah as deep loss to Ndigbo.
Kalu said has contributed so much to the legislature, Anambra people and the country. He said the Anambra South Senator served his constituent with great dedication.
In his condolence message, on Saturday, Kalu said: “Deeply saddened to receive the shocking news of the death of my brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District and a stakeholder in our party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).
“Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah was a great businessman with remarkable achievements in media, sports, and the petroleum industry, an astute politician, and a leader with a strong commitment to community development and service. His philanthropic contributions to his community, state, the Southeast, and our nation, Nigeria, are profound.
“As a Senator and Chairman of the Committee on Petroleum Resources, Downstream, he made invaluable contributions to the parliament through his legislative activities, delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents while serving our country with dedication. This is indeed a great loss, not just to the Southeast region but to the entire nation.
“I sincerely commiserate with the immediate family of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, the people of the Anambra South Senatorial District, and the government of Anambra State. May God grant us all the fortitude to bear this unfortunate loss.”
