Sunday, supporters of agitator Igboho took to the streets of Ibadan, Oyo State, demanding the release of the agitator, who was reportedly arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Remember that the Yoruba activist apprehended on Monday in Cotonou while attempting to flee to Germany with his wife.
Photos from the protest on Wednesday showed a crowd forming near Igboho’s Soka residence. They carried placards and chanted freedom songs.
Sunday Igboho’s media aide, Olayomi Koiki, had previously stated that a protest would be held at the freedom fighter’s residence in Ibadan on Wednesday afternoon.
“Please, we beg all agitators to congregate at Chief Sunday Igboho’s house for a peaceful demonstration to show the world the kind of person he is as one of the conditions for his release,” he said.
“Please arrive at his house in Soka, Ibadan where the activist apprehended resides, by 12 p.m. today, thanks, and God bless the Yoruba nation now.”
