Governor Umahi, via a statement late yesterday, has said he will enact a law against fake news on social media in the state.
Expressing his ultimate dissatisfaction, against rumors and fake news that are always propagated online.
Disclosing this via his, Special Assistant on Media and publicity, during a church service at Christ Embassy Church, located in Abakaliki, stated that “I will enact a law that deals against fake news on social media, and anyone caught in the act, shall be severally punished, so all youths should take caution”.
He also, sympathized with one of his commissioners who died, stating that he is very proud of the deceased, who worked hard and remain faithful despite all.
He said, “I mourn with the family, and I pray God will console and help them, I’m always ready to help them whenever they need help”.
