The Police command in Lafia has confirmed the arrest of seven persons. They were said to be in possession of a large of cash which were fake. The culprits reportedly had N7.8 million and $110,000 in cash.

The commissioner of Police, Mr. Bola Longe paraded the group on Friday in Lafia.

Mr. Bola confirmed that 2 of the members got arrested in June. He said they attempted using fake currencies but were caught.

He was said to be trying to deposit N50,000 in a POS before an argument started. The suspect was arrested as police intervened.

“Upon receipt of the Information, police personnel attached to Area Command, Lafia moved immediately to the scene and got the suspect arrested,” he said.

Bola disclosed that further investigations led to exposing the remaining group. However, the cash found is under review with the CBN.

The Police also disclosed the identity of the suspects who were trying to create fake identities.

Longe called on the members of the public to corporate with the Police to fish them out. Although other suspects who were paraded on the same day, for other criminal offenses are under police investigations.
