Mikel Arteta’s Gunners stunned in-form Chelsea at Stamford bridge. Arsenal scored an early goal through Smith Rowe to secure a 1-0 win over their London rivals.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho made a poor back pass that was through on goal. Kepa pushed the ball away to the paths of Aubemayang who set up Rowe for the only goal of the game.

The result came as a shock considering the contrasting form of both teams. Arsenal came into the game with no hope of European football next season. Chelsea on the other hand, have improved since Tomas Tuchel was appointed manager at the club.

Arsenal have broken some records with this famous win over Chelsea.

This win means Arsenal have won their first league game over Chelsea at Stamford bridge since 2011.

Arsenal’s win ensured that Gunners have done the double over Chelsea for the first time since ‘the invincible (2003-04).

The win over Chelsea is Arsenal’s third consecutive away win without conceeding a goal. The last time Arsenal achieved this feat was in 2013.


Chelsea remains in 4th place in the premier league table. Arsenal on the other hand are 8th with little to no hope of a place in the Europa League next season.


Up next for the blues is a tricky fixture against Leicester City in the league and FA Cup finals. The FA Cup final is schedule to take place on the 15th of May. While the league match is on three days later.

Arsenal visits Crystal Palace next for yet another London derby.

Tomas Tuchel’s men also have a Champions League final against Guardiola’s Man City. Chelsea would be looking to win a their second Champions League title. Man City are in their first ever Champions league final and pep would be willing to win his first UCL title since 2011.
