On Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021, the Lagos State Police Command arrested a 21-year-old undergraduate suspect in the killing of Usifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, at her parents’ residence.
The deceased, Usifo Ataga, was found dead at a residence in Lekki, Lagos, a few days ago.
On Thursday, June 24th, 2021, Chidinma, a 300-level student at the University of Lagos, revealed how she killed the CEO while being paraded as a suspect at the police headquarters.
When they got into a fight, Chidinma stated they were having a good time, and she stabbed the dead twice. She took her debit card and withdrew N380, 000 after his death.
According to the suspect, she had been in a love relationship with the deceased for around four months prior to the incident. They smoked and drank before she killed him.
Reno Omokri, a media advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan, said the suspect was not a hardened killer in response to the news. She was given a sedative before executing the heinous act.
According to Reno Omokri, the suspect was allegedly given a medication called Rohypnol, which has the ability to change people’s minds.
He said the suspect couldn’t have been in her right mind on the day of the event.
Omokri also posted CCTV footage of the deceased and the suspect drinking together at a bar hours before the event.
