Sowore Names Three Most Dangerous Politicians in Nigeria

Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 elections, has strongly criticized the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.

During an interview with News Central TV, Sowore identified Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, and President Bola Tinubu as the “three most dangerous individuals in Nigeria.”

He condemned the state of emergency, describing it as a move to dismantle the state’s governance structure for political control.

“This is not just any declaration of emergency—it’s a deliberate attempt to seize control of one of Nigeria’s wealthiest states. Wike wants to maintain his grip on Rivers State, and this is part of that plan,” Sowore stated.

He pointed out that the political tension in Rivers had been building since Siminalayi Fubara became governor.

“From the moment Fubara took office, it was clear that this crisis was unfolding. Whether you call it an appointment or a selection, the entire process has been leading up to this moment,” he added.

According to reports from SaharaReporters, Sowore alleged that Wike sought Tinubu’s intervention to remove Fubara from power and gain control of the state.

“At a certain point, Wike had to turn to Tinubu, his political superior in this case, to step in and take Rivers State away from Fubara. This is exactly what they have executed,” he remarked.

He went on to accuse Akpabio, Wike, and Tinubu of manipulating the political system for their personal benefit.

“These three—Wike, Akpabio, and Tinubu—are individuals Nigerians need to be wary of. They operate with a level of impunity that allows them to commit political crimes without consequences,” Sowore said.

He argued that their rise to power had been fueled by unchecked corruption and abuse of authority.

“What makes them more dangerous than any other political figures is that they have climbed the ranks through corruption and lawlessness, yet have never been held accountable. Now, we are seeing the results of that,” he added.

Sowore also predicted that the Nigerian National Assembly would approve the emergency rule without resistance.

“I said earlier today on Channels TV that the National Assembly would endorse Tinubu’s state of emergency without hesitation. They are all part of the same political scheme, and Nigerians need to recognize this reality. They unite against us, so we must unite against them,” he concluded.
