Deji Adeyanju, the Convener of Concerned Nigerians, stated on Monday that two more governors running on the Peoples Democratic Party ticket may defect to the All Progressives Congress. According to the activist, the ruling party is currently in talks with the governors.
The talks, according to Adeyanju, are part of a plan to persuade governors to switch to the APC before the party’s state congresses.
“As I predicted, the governor of Zamfara has defected to the APC,” he wrote. The APC is still in talks with two PDP governors to see if they can defect before their state conventions and hand over control of the party structures to them. I feel terrible about Yari.”
Bello Matawalle, the Governor of Zamfara State, had already defected from the PDP to the APC, according to Naturenex.
Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, revealed the news.
Moreover, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has responded to Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State’s planned defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) (APC).
Kola Ologbodiyan, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, stated in a statement that the governor’s defection does not affect the opposition party.
