- BREAKING: Anxiety as Igboho’s extradition hearing holds today
The Yoruba nation freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho, will appear in court on Thursday.
His spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, said the hearing would be held at 10am in the morning. He is currently in the custody of the International Criminal Police Organisation in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
2. IPOB: Abaribe Vows To Stand Surety For Kanu Again
Senate Minority Leader, Enyinaya Abaribe has vowed to stand surety for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu again. He said he did not feel betrayed that Kanu left the country, saying he ran for his life.
3. NDLEA arrests two suspected drug traffickers in Benue
Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Benue state.
Chioma Afam, 36, and Peace Chidinma Caleb, 22, were trying to smuggle 296,000 tablets of Diazepam and Exol-5 from Onitsha, Anambra state to Gombe state.

Uche Mefor, former deputy leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused Nnamdi Kanu of destroying lives with his selfish agenda.
He said it will take generations to undo what Kanu and IPOB have done. The minister of justice and Attorney-General of the Federation has adjusted some charges filed against Kanu.
5. COVID-19 cases spike by 77% in one week as states reduce testing -NCDC
Nigeria has recorded 77 percent increase in the number of reported cases of COVID-19. Seven states performed poorly, testing less than 10 people in one week. To date, 169,884 cases have been confirmed, with 2,128 deaths.
NCDC Director-General Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu appealed to Nigerians to observe safety and health precautions.

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, may face charges related to treasonable felony for urging people to take up arms. He could be charged under Section 37(1) (a) of the Criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990.
7. Benin Rejects Buhari Govt’s Move To Quickly Extradite Sunday Igboho
The Benin Republic has rejected moves by the Nigerian Government to extradite Sunday Igboho.
The activist, popularly known as Sunday Adeyemo, was due to be extradited to Abuja on Wednesday. His lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi commended Benin for showing that it respects the rule of law.
8. Amotekun Corps allegedly kill two party attendees in Ibadan
Two young men have allegedly been killed by some Amotekun officers in Oyo State. The incident occurred at a party being held to celebrate the eve of Eid-el-kabir. Two of the deceased were shot dead while others were injured. Head of the family has called on the state government to investigate the matter.
9. Presidency Cautions Nigerians Against Destroying Country’s Image
The Presidency has admonished Nigerians to be good ambassadors of the country if they want foreigners to think positively about Nigeria.
The statement was made by Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. He also flayed calls for foreign intervention in Nigeria’s affairs as acting in bad faith.
10. Rescued Pilot Undertook Mission Against Terrorists Alone – NAF
Nigerian Air Force has denied reports that there were other personnel onboard the fighter jet which crashed in Zamfara on Sunday. The aircraft came under intense fire from bandits which led to its crash after a successful operation, Gbawet had said earlier this week.
