- BREAKING: DSS restricts Nnamdi Kanu from signing letter for UK consular assistance – Lawyer
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, self-acclaimed leader of the Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, has said that the Department of State Services, DSS has stopped his client from signing a consular assistance form by the United Kingdom.
Barrister Aloy Ejimako made this known in a statement on Monday. The British High Commission had offered to extended consular help to the fugitive who is currently in the custody of the Nigerian secret police.
2. Buhari Directed Seven Governors To End Banditry –Bagudu
Atiku Bagudu has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has mandated seven North-West governors, including himself, to end banditry in the zone.

3. One killed as bandits kidnap 7 people from Kaduna community
One person killed and seven others abducted by bandits in Kaduna State. Attack took place at Anguwar Gajere village under Kutemashi Ward of Birnin Gwari local government area. The bandits rustled over 50 cows belonging to the locals from the same village.
4. We will not be distracted by mischief makers – Osun PDP
The Osun State chapter of the PDP has called on members of the public to disregard attempts by a group within its rank crying foul over the leadership issues in the party. This is as it noted that it has also noted allegations of an attempt to bribe Justice Oke by Deji Adeleke.
Adagunodo was accused of conniving with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2018, which eventually carved the hole of thwarting spirited efforts of the people to reclaim our state from the political felons. The PDP said it should be allowed a fair hearing.
5. Suspected kidnapper of military personnel arrested in Ogun
Waliu Oloyede, a suspected kidnapper of a military officer was on July 17 arrested by operatives of Ogun state police command at Odo pako Ota, in Ado odo ota local government area. He was dressed in full military camouflage uniform with the rank of W02 but could not give a satisfactory account of himself.
The suspect was said to have attempted to snatch a dane gun from a Vigilante man. On interrogation, the suspect was unable to give account of how he got the military uniform, or address of the unit where he is serving, hence he was detained.
6. IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu Didn’t Jump Bail – Ejimakor
IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu will prove he did not jump bail in 2017, lawyer says. Aloy Ejimakor insists the military invasion of Kanu’s residence and threat to his life made him unable to attend his trials and flee Nigeria.
He said Kanu was in high spirits when he met with him on July 17. Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan says the rendition of Nnamdi Kanu is a “pyrrhic victory” for those complicit in it. But he says any extradition proceedings, either in Britain or Kenya, would have been summarily denied. The arrest of Kanu by British forces in Kenya was an act of war crimes, he says.

Nigerians react to the reported sacking of 40 pastors by the Living Faith Church International, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel. One Pastor Peter Godwin had claimed that the church sacked the pastors in Ekiti State for having a church growth index that falls below expectations. The pastor of a Ghanaian church has been sacked by the church’s management. Media personality, Morayo Afolabi-Brown berated the pastor for going to the media over the issue. She said “God is the real MD (Managing Director) of any Bible-believing church”
10. Pilot Survives As Nigeria Fighter Jet Battling Bandits Crashes
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has revealed that flight lieutenant, Abayomi Dairo, survived after one of its fighter jets crashed in Zamfara.
The statement was signed by Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet. He explained that Flight Lieutenant Dairo survived after he successfully ejected from aircraft.
