A Fulani residential area called “ITIN” in Ogun State, has been alledged to have been burnt down by youths, following a case of kidnapping.

This was affirmed by the Ogun State police command that some alledged herdsmen known to be Fulani abducted a woman, whom the police said was yet to be rescued as of Tuesday night.

Angry by the update, Youths in the area alledged that kidnapping had been become common in the area, and alledged march to the Fulani settlement and set it on fire, a fulani got injured in the unfortunate incident and others fled for safety with their wives and children.

While addressing the situation, Abdulmumin Ibrahim, the Chairman of Ogun State Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, said 5 houses was destroyed by the Youths.

He said that “Those affected have run away from the community, no life was lost though, two persons were missing earlier but they have been found and we have made a report to the Sagamu Police station.

The Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police spokesman, said normalcy had been restored, and the clash occurred because “some Fulani herdsmen kidnapped someone in his farm.”

He added that the State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun had visited the place for on-the-spot assessment.
