It is no longer news that former Secretary to the government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Mr Peter Obi despite being a member of the All Progressive Congress.
It would be recalled that Babachir Lawal was among the northern Christian members of the All Progressive Congress that opposed the Muslim-Muslim ticket of Asiwaju Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
Lawal along with other members of the party announced their withdrawal from supporting Tinubu.
It would also be recalled that while Babachir decided to support Peter Obi, people like Yakubu Dogara went for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Meanwhile, Babachir on Monday said if Peter Obi fails to win the election, he will migrate to Cameroon.
“We may have good candidates with good English but if we don’t win this election it will be nonsense. I told some people yesterday if we lose this election, I said we will all migrate to Cameroon because of shame and disgrace. So it is not about whether we have option or not to win. Peter Obi must win this election” he said during the north east stakeholders meeting with Peter Obi that was held on Monday.
